Jennifer Prell, SMM-C 
President and Founder

Jennifer Prell, SMM-C, is the President and founder of Paxem, Inc. Paxem is an A+ Accredited Senior Move Manager and an ASEL Accredited (American Society of Estate Liquidators) organization. Jennifer is also the president and founder of Elderwerks Educational Services, a not-for-profit 501C3 corporation that helps with senior living coordination, care, support, and benefits. This is a complimentary service to older adults, seniors, and their families.

She is a member of Leading Age Illinois, President of Continuity of Care Lake/McHenry Chapter, founding member of the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors Senior Service Committee, and Board Member Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce. Jennifer has been on several radio programs, featured on WGN News, NBC News, winner of the OWL 2019 (Outstanding Woman Leader) award from the Barrington Chamber of Commerce for mentorship and has taught hundreds of classes for consumers and professionals.


Jennifer believes that education and planning can help alleviate stress and prepare for unforeseen circumstances. Helping others is an important aspect to her life.

I bring over 20 years of design and Staging experience to Paxem. I'm an ASP (Accredited Staging Professional), and on the Board of the Greater Chicago Chapter of the International Association of Staging Professionals (IAHSP), and a member of the International Furnishings & Design Association (IFDA). Design inspires me and helping you achieve the look you love is my greatest passion!

The greatest joy I get from my job is hearing all about my client’s “story” There’s so much to learn from each and every one. After the job is complete, I smile, knowing that I had a small part in helping them move on to the next chapter. I love my job!

It is such a rewarding thing to see a smile and the relief on people’s faces after we have helped them move or just help them in organizing their belongings.  It is never boring, as every day brings new challenges. The individuals with which I work make this job truly enjoyable. 


I'm a Chicago native with a
passion for interior design and helping my clients! My love for design was born during a year and a half living in Southern
Germany and Austria. The architecture, fashion, food, and art all inspired me. Cultural influences play a large role in
the aesthetic I bring and in how I view
interior spaces.


I'm new to the Chicagoland Area. I grew up in Utah and attended Brigham Young University. I then followed my Michigan native husband to the Great Lake State, and we recently relocated to the Chicago area. I love to create functional and organized spaces that are warm and welcoming! Getting to know my clients and learning their style preferences is one of my favorite aspects of this job.


I've been in design for over 30 years, I've owned a trade showroom, and held a spot on the board of the Harper Interior Design Association. I constantly held workshops and discovered my greatest joy is in helping others learn about color schemes, styles, and the importance of finishing touches in designing a room. I love the relationships I've built working with my design clients and my position on the board of IFDA (International Furnishings & Design Association)!


I am a Mother, Wife & Girl Scout Leader for some amazing young girls.  As the estate sale assistant, my favorite part of the job is meeting new clients, expanding my knowledge base of unique items, and their individual history.  I also love working for a family first company!  


I enjoy helping people in a time of their lives when they are starting a new chapter. Whether they are downsizing, organizing, or moving it is always different, a new adventure every day!  When I am not working, you can find me exploring the outdoors, spending time with my family, and shopping for other people!


I moved to Chicago from my home town of Milwaukee over a decade ago when I started my career at Hyatt Hotels. That's where I noticed my love for interior design, while launching hotel brands. I've worked on properties in New York, DC, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and more! I'm ASP accredited and certified with IAHSP through Staged Homes. I have a keen eye for detail and accessorizing spaces is my favorite part of this job!


Since I was a little girl, I've been aesthetically motivated, so much that the surroundings I'm in affect my mood. I'm an Accredited Staging Professional (ASP) and prior to coming to Paxem had my own design business. I have a passion for making spaces comfortable, appealing and inviting. I find good design uplifts everyone's spirit!


It is often very stressful and overwhelming when someone is downsizing, relocating and selling their parents’ home. I love to make that transition for people more relaxed, worry-free and enjoyable. It is very rewarding to see the progress we make and to see how grateful people are.
